Lahore, Pakistan – In a significant step toward gender-inclusive digital development, the Department of Digital Media at the University of the Punjab, Lahore inaugurated a Multi-Purpose Center for Women under the Digitalization for Women’s Economic Empowerment (D4WEE) initiative. The project is supported by UN Women Pakistan and implemented by Kaarvan Crafts Foundation.

The center goes beyond physical infrastructure, offering young women access to digital literacy programs, financial skills development, and new livelihood opportunities. It reflects the transformative potential of turning access into opportunity, enabling women to participate fully in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

“This center represents a doorway to possibility,” said project representatives, emphasizing how equipping women with digital and financial tools can create sustainable professional pathways.
