Lahore: In a landmark achievement for academic and debating excellence, University of the Punjab secured championship titles in both the English and Urdu categories at the prestigious University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Debating Championship, marking a rare double victory for the institution.

The achievement is being celebrated as a historic moment for Punjab University, as it is the first time in many years that the university has simultaneously won both linguistic categories at the same debating tournament.

In the English category, the Punjab University team comprising M. Dawood and Tayyab Ullah emerged as champions after delivering outstanding performances against leading institutions from across the country.

Meanwhile, in the Urdu category, Roshan Zehra and Laraib Nisar secured the championship title for Punjab University, further strengthening the university’s reputation in competitive debating and public speaking.

The tournament also brought individual honors for the university. Roshan Zehra was declared the Best Speaker of the Urdu category, while Laraib Nisar earned the position of Second Best Speaker. Academics and students at Punjab University hailed the achievement as a reflection of the institution’s growing intellectual culture and the revival of its debating legacy.
